We, Lorraine and I, hail from the vibrant city of San Francisco, California. Even though we no longer reside there, San Francisco holds an irreplaceable spot in our hearts. It's where our story began and where many of our fondest memories lie.

Following the advice of our care team, we made a significant life decision to move two hours away from our beloved city. This transition, though daunting, was essential for our well-being. Leaving behind the familiar streets of San Francisco was a leap into the unknown, but it was a step we needed to take for our future.

Lorraine's Battle: A Fight from the Start
Lorrain's life began on an early Saturday morning, marked by an intense and prolonged labor. Unknown to us at the time, she was engaged in a fierce battle for survival. The umbilical cord was wrapped around her neck multiple times, causing her distress with every contraction.

The Struggle and Strength
 Lorraine experienced uncontrollable seizures and was left with significant brain injuries and global developmental delays. Doctors warned of severe disabilities and a life marked by these challenges. They spoke of her brain being covered in scar tissue, but also of hope - the possibility that with treatment, some of the damage might be mitigated.
